“The beautiful is as useful as the useful”, this is what French novelist Victor Hugo had one of his characters say and thus expressed what these two terms have in common: their meanings both lie in the eye of the beholder. This is especially true for notebooks, which reflect both contemporary utility and the users’ highly individual sense of beauty. The model one chooses reveals a lot about one’s character. The design of the Adamo XPS merges functional and emotionally appealing details with an enticing and elegant language of form. Inspired by an aircraft wing design and featuring a thickness of only 9.99 mm, this notebook imparts the styling of an exclusive accessory. The intricate placement of components contributes to the overall compact design of this notebook, while its high-value magnesium chassis and aluminium enclosure make it very light, weighing in at only 1.44 kg. An entirely new kind of user experience is achieved through the way in which this exclusive notebook is opened: a touch-sensitive latch in the lid registers when the user swipes over it with the finger or hand and immediately pops it open smoothly yet with an accompanying solid click. The interactive experience of opening the notebook is intensified through the use of blue LEDs lights – all of these features contribute to the highly distinctive aesthetics and functionality of this notebook, which has the power to fascinate its user anew every day.
